With the Razer Core X, gamers will have the option of enjoying the ultimate graphics boost while gaming on a laptop without having to break the bank.

This is an external graphics enclosure that will play nice with Mac Thunderbol­t 3 laptops, helping unlock desktop-class gaming and performanc­e while one is on the move. The Razer Core X is able to transform integrated graphics laptops into desktop-class gaming machines through its presence as an external graphics card.

It is also an affordable method to future-proof one’s gaming laptops, or perhaps to unlock VRready experience­s through the boosting of performanc­e beyond the existing laptop’s limits.

Specially designed with a standard Thunderbol­t 3 connection, the Core X is extremely versatile and compatible, playing nice with the Razer Blade range of laptops as well as other machines that run on Windows and macOS, specifical­ly Windows 10 Redstone 1 or later and macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or later.

It is also compatible with AMD Radeon cards for a greater degree of flexibilit­y. It boasts an expanded internal design with a wider aluminum shell, enabling it to accommodat­e up to 3-slot wide desktop graphics cards.

The Core X itself supports the latest desktop PCIe graphics cards, including the NVIDIA GeForce, NVIDIA Quadro, and AMD XConnecten­abled Radeon and Radeon Pro cards.

Underneath the hood, the Razer Core X carries a huge 650W ATX power supply which is more than enough to deliver the power for the latest as well as future graphics cards.

There are strategica­lly located open vents for additional desktop cooling, enabling it to dispense heat quickly and efficientl­y for an optimal thermal performanc­e.

Installati­on of the Razer Core X takes just seconds: slide open its durable aluminum housing, and graphics card will be secured in place using a thumb screw. The Razer Core X retails at US$299 apiece.
