RAZER CORE X
YOU are an avid gamer who likes to bring your gaming machine with you wherever you go, but find it inconvenient. Opting for a gaming notebook instead, you are forced to make some compromise when it comes to graphical performance.
With the Razer Core X, gamers will have the option of enjoying the ultimate graphics boost while gaming on a laptop without having to break the bank.
This is an external graphics enclosure that will play nice with Mac Thunderbolt 3 laptops, helping unlock desktop-class gaming and performance while one is on the move. The Razer Core X is able to transform integrated graphics laptops into desktop-class gaming machines through its presence as an external graphics card.
It is also an affordable method to future-proof one’s gaming laptops, or perhaps to unlock VRready experiences through the boosting of performance beyond the existing laptop’s limits.
Specially designed with a standard Thunderbolt 3 connection, the Core X is extremely versatile and compatible, playing nice with the Razer Blade range of laptops as well as other machines that run on Windows and macOS, specifically Windows 10 Redstone 1 or later and macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 or later.
It is also compatible with AMD Radeon cards for a greater degree of flexibility. It boasts an expanded internal design with a wider aluminum shell, enabling it to accommodate up to 3-slot wide desktop graphics cards.
The Core X itself supports the latest desktop PCIe graphics cards, including the NVIDIA GeForce, NVIDIA Quadro, and AMD XConnectenabled Radeon and Radeon Pro cards.
Underneath the hood, the Razer Core X carries a huge 650W ATX power supply which is more than enough to deliver the power for the latest as well as future graphics cards.
There are strategically located open vents for additional desktop cooling, enabling it to dispense heat quickly and efficiently for an optimal thermal performance.
Installation of the Razer Core X takes just seconds: slide open its durable aluminum housing, and graphics card will be secured in place using a thumb screw. The Razer Core X retails at US$299 apiece.
