Rafizi: PH leaders should reflect on themselves

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan leaders are advised to reflect on themselves from time to time, now that they are part of the government, said PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli.

He took to Twitter yesterday to offer the advise to his fellow PH comrades, saying that this would be a good discipline for better government.

Rafizi said there were questions they needed to ask themselves as part of self-reflection.

“When we were in the opposition, would we like it if the government did this? Are our actions the same as what Barisan Nasional used to do?”

The former parliamentarian said some had accused him of defending Umno and Pas whenever he admonished his colleagues.

“Some say I have not been critical of Umno and Pas.”

He said both parties were not part of the government and posed little threat to its administration.

“PH is the government and if it makes a wrong move, the people will be (adversely) affected.”

He said many people were of the view that the PH government needed time to realise its goals and that it should not be subjected to criticism yet.

He added that if people did not criticise the government from the beginning, there would be repercussions.

He said a government must be ready to learn and accept criticism.

Rafizi reminded his followers of the old Malay adage: melentur buluh biar dari rebung.

“There are PH supporters who chide me, saying that I don’t realise that we are now the government, but still criticising like a a member of the opposition.”

He claimed that these people were only with PH physically, but their souls were stuck in “Umno’s old feudalistic ways”.

“They don’t understand the aspirations we are fighting for.”
