Perfect for children

BATH time for my 5-year-old is playtime. She’s not someone who believes in a quick shower. When she gets into the bathroom, she expects a gamut of experiences, such as bubble blowing, sticking her leg into the drainage (just to see how far it can go) and even “science experiments” — like what happens when you drop three bars of soap into the toilet bowl? (Answer: A very angry mother).

Needless to say, I need things to keep her occupied in the bathroom and toiletries play a key role. Otherwise, I have a bored child up to trouble in a wet, slippery environment.

When it comes to toiletries, she only wants those which have good bubble blowing capacity (naturally), come in eye catching colours and smell fabulous.

She’s not interested in anything without a fragrance. Keep in mind that this is a child who sniffs the hair of other kids to see whether their shampoo is up to mark.

The Carrie Junior bath range has been specially designed for children and their delicate skin and scalp.

I do need to wash my daughter’s hair daily because she sweats a lot but I’m careful not to use products which are too strong because I don’t want to dry out her hair.

She also has dry skin so I have to pay attention to the bath products I buy for her.

This range has a hair-cum-body wash in fruity fragrances such as blueberry and strawberry. There are also variants in cherry, grapeberry and double milk.

A hair and body wash is always a plus when you’re dealing with an active child in the bathroom. Trust me, sometimes I feel like I’m trying to give an eel a bath. She’s always slipping out of my grasp.

With one bottle for the hair and body and an easy pump dispenser, you save time and effort during bath time. No fumbling with multiple bottles and opening and closing caps.

The fragrances were really nice, the entire bathroom smelt fruity after a shower and I only had to use a little bit of the hair and body wash during each shower because it lathered really well. My daughter had a great time using it to blow bubbles too.

We even tried it out as a bubble bath. I filled her tub with water and pumped some of the hair and body wash into the water. Pretty soon, I had an impressive bubble bath ready.

Given that the products are soap- and paraben-free and pH balanced, they didn’t dry my daughter’s skin either. The range is also formulated with Fruito-E, a combination of natural fruit extracts to nourish and protect children’s skin.

There’s also an odour buster shampoo in this range in a “perky peach” fragrance. No more sweat-smelling hair.

The shampoo has been enriched with olive oil so hair is silky smooth and easy to comb after a wash (I can’t stress how important this is) and more importantly, just like the hair-cum-body wash, the shampoo doesn’t irritate the eye so my daughter could have loads of soapy fun in the bathroom with no worries.

Carrie Junior products are available at leading retail outlets, hypermarkets, supermarkets and major pharmacies.
