Annuar: PH govt a kakistocracy
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa has described the Pakatan Harapan government as a “kakistocracy” run by irresponsible people who failed to deliver on their promises.
He said people could judge for themselves how the government failed to deliver on its 10 promises, which it pledged to fulfil within 100 days of taking office.
“Instead of fulfilled promises, we have had nothing but the highest level of kakistocracy, where people have been told that the PH manifesto is not the Bible.
“This is nothing short of insulting the people.”
(The MerriamWebster dictionary lists “kakistocracy” as a government run by the worst people. It is derived from the word “kakistos”, which is Greek for “worst”.)
Annuar said government leaders washing their hands off the promises showed that they did not intend to fulfil the promises.
He said since taking over the administration from Barisan Nasional, PH had done nothing but attack the previous government.
“Even their own side realises this. PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli reminded them about it recently.
“However, they have continued building the idea that they cannot fulfil the promises because of alleged wrongdoings of the previous administration.”
He said people were getting tired of such excuses, adding that PH needed to be more responsible in managing the country.
He listed the promises that PH failed to deliver, adding that the government had fulfilled only three of the 10 listed in its manifesto.
