Jazeman and Co aim to shine at Silverstone
their positive performance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June, World Endurance Championship (WEC) trio Jazeman Jaafar, Nabil Jeffri and Weiron Tan hope to continue where they left off at the Six hours of Silverstone this weekend.
The Jackie Chan DC Racing X Jota members, currently third in the overall WEC LMP2 class on 42 points, will be looking to rack up more valuable points this weekend to strengthen their hopes of finishing the season in the top-three. Silverstone is the third round of the WEC.
Jazeman, who will lead the team, stressed the importance of consistency in endurance racing. They will be racing in their Oreca 07, using the number 37.
“I’m excited to continue the strong momentum we had at Le Mans. Consistency is key and we would like to collect more strong results for the championship,” said the 25-year-old.
Nabil, who has vast experience with single seater racing at Silverstone, said: “I really love the Silverstone circuit and always felt good when I was driving in Formula 2 there.”
“I am looking forward to race there again and hope for some good results. We are 3rd in the championship and are not far from the top two cars.”
The Malaysian trio had finished eighth overall and fourth in LMP2 at Le Mans.
They are only one point behind DC Racing’s No 38 car who are second in the overall standings and 15 points behind Signatech Alpine Matmut’s No 36 car who lead the championship on 57 points.
