ASTROWORLD

Travis Scott

-

IF you don’t know Travis Scott yet, you may know his better-half but we’ll get to that later.

Over the years, Scott has definitely come a long way and levelled up both as an artiste and celebrity.

His name has been popping up in headlines for numerous reasons, one being the father of the baby by one of the most famous and possibly richest women in the planet, Kylie Jenner.

However, his latest album has been the talk of town, for a very good reason. It’s dope!

He may only be 26, but he already has so much going on for him and this latest album is one that will go down in music history.

Astroworld is his third solo album and it is extremely ambitious and well-made. If you’re into haunting and atmospheric beats, this is it!

Scott has proven himself the master of beats. If you’re a fan of his first two records, this will take it to the next level and you’ll find so much more to love. You heard it, Scott’s woozy auto-tunes are back!

The most talked about track from

Astroworld is Stargazing withatotalof20 million streams on Spotify (at the time of writing).

The idea behind the song is that Travis is on a journey, a rather psychedelic one into outer space or more like what he imagines the outer space to be.

“And I will still be here, stargazing; I’ll still look up, look up; Look up for love; Stars don’t disappear, they keep blazing; Even when the night is over; And I will still be here, stargazing”, he sings.

The auto-tuned and processed vocals really do add up to the whole listening experience. Another note-worthy track is

Sicko Mode featuring Drake. This track has quite the build up and the vocals together with the beats are pretty damn epic.

Another track, Stop Trying To Be God ,has also been getting quite a bit of attention, especially after he dropped the music video.

Reason? Well, it features Kylie Jenner covered in gold glitter. The song itself is packed with religious references and the music video no less, but having Kylie in the video is definitely a good distraction.

However, if you notice, it’s probably one of their very rare public moments given how low-key their relationship has been.

In a recent interview, Kylie shared: “That’s why we just go the extra mile to keep our relationship super private, or like, if he has events or something, I won’t come. Because I want him to do his own thing. I want him to be him. I don’t want it to be Kylie and Trav. If people don’t ever see us together, that’s okay with me, because we just do our thing.”

Having said that, Scott really did whip up some good stuff this time around and

Astroworld is definitely worth the hype. Although those ghoulish vocals aren’t exactly my kind of music, I can see why people love it. I find the lyrics and the references behind each and every song really interesting.

My personal pick is Stargazing, Sicko

Mode and Butterfly Effect. Each to its own, so what’s your pick?
