‘Please come out to vote on Saturday’

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan’s candidate for the Seri Setia by-election Halimey Abu Bakar has implored voters again to come out to vote on Saturday.

Halimey said while his team had been working hard to promote the importance of voting among the constituents, he was concerned about the possibility of low voter turnout as seen during the Sungai Kandis by-election.

The Sungai Kandis by-election saw 49.8 per cent of registered voters casting their votes, quashing the Election Commission’s earlier estimation of 80 per cent.

“Please come out to vote this Saturday.

“It is important to exercise your right and ensure the right person win the by-election,” he said yesterday.

Halimey was commenting on the early voter turnout in Seri Setia yesterday, where it was reported 73 per cent had cast their votes as of 3pm.

There were 2,770 registered early voters, including 173 police personnel.

He proposed that data on registered nurseries be set up for the Seri Setia constituency to ensure children’s safety while their parents were away at work.

“I believe less than 10 per cent of the nurseries here are registered.

“We need to collect data and help those who have yet to register to do so.”

Halimey is contesting against Pas candidate Dr Halimah Ali.
