Deputy home minister sacks aide over upskirt video at optical shop

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Home Minister Datuk Azis Jamman’s aide, who was caught on closedcircuit television (CCTV) recording an upskirt video of a woman at a shop, has been sacked.

Azis said he viewed the matter seriously and would not tolerate such behaviour.

Azis was undergoing an eye test at the optical shop when the incident occurred. He was accompanied by his aide.

“I view this matter seriously. This individual had made the recording stealthily while I was undergoing an eye test.

“This is a despicable and heinous act.

“After evaluating it, I have decided to sack the officer as his actions have affected my image and credibility as deputy home minister, as well as that of the deputy minister’s office.”

Azis apologised for the officer’s actions and said it had nothing to do with other officers in his ministry.

Earlier, it was reported that the aide was accused of recording an upskirt video of a female employee at a shop at Solaris Dutamas.

He was captured on CCTV committing the act at an optical store on Saturday.

The one minute, 47 second-long video has gone viral on social media.

The woman has lodged a report over the incident.

In her report, the woman said she was conducting an eye test on Azis in the shop at 11am.

His aide, she said, was hovering behind her.

She said as she turned to look at a screen next to her, she noticed that the man was holding a mobile phone and was recording a video.

“Later, after reviewing the CCTV footage, I saw that the man had placed his phone under my skirt and recorded a video,” she said in her report.
