STOP ‘LEGALISED’ PAEDOPHILIA

- SABRINA ARIPEN Founder, Society for Equality, Respect and Trust for All

IT would seem we have a fair share of kind-hearted souls made up of middle-aged men who want nothing more than to “save” children under 16 from poverty.

However, the only children they wish to save are girls, and it does not involve setting up a charitable fund.

As per the popular adage, “there is no such thing as a free lunch”. These benevolent men expect marriage (or rather legitimised sex with young girls), in return for their kindness in providing the young, impressionable girls with a “better life”. Perhaps, a dowry is paid to the parents too.

Let us call a spade a spade, and correctly label this arrangement as what it really is — legalised paedophilia — prostitution of young girls.

The fact that these men are lusting after children, who are unable to defend themselves, is not even questioned by some, but treated as if it is normal.

It is appalling that certain parties still defend a lower age bracket for marriage by insisting that puberty is a sign of maturity. It is as if the only requirement for a successful marriage is the ability to have sex.

Never mind not being able to hold intelligent conversation or the ability to carry out important tasks or make decisions. It all boils down to one thing and one thing only, as if that is the only value of a girl.

These men care so much about the welfare of these young girls but do they even care about the children they already have? Talk about selective reasoning. Surely, we can do better and find other solutions to “save a girl”?
