ALEADING entertainment outlet in Jalan Sungai Besi continues to be a drug den despite having been raided many times by the authorities.

Recently, the unlicensed fourstorey outlet was raided twice within 24 hours by the Kuala Lumpur Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) and enforcement agencies, led by Kuala Lumpur City Hall.

Bukit Aman NCID director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said his team detained 31 local men and three women aged between 16 and 54 years, including two men believed to be drug syndicate members in a raid at 2.30am on Friday.

“In the operation, we seized 181 bottles of drinking water and 408 packets of liquor and beverage powder suspected of containing methamphetamine and ketamine drugs, and 60 cigarettes containing marijuana, all of which were estimated to be worth RM230,000.

“If the seized drugs are sold in the black market, they can affect more than 2,500 people,” he said at the Kuala Lumpur Contingent Police headquarters yesterday.

He said 32 of those arrested tested positive for drugs and were detained under Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and remanded for two days, while the two drug trafficking syndicate members were detained under Section 39A (2) of the same act and remanded for seven days.
