LARGEST CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CENTRE LAUNCHED
MERCEDES-Benz Malaysia and its authorised dealer Hap Seng Star have launched the RM41.6 million Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned Centre, operated by Hap Seng Star Kinrara.
The centre is the largest in Malaysia with a built-up area of 46,210 sq ft. It can display more than 100 showroom vehicles at a time and delivers a complete one-stop solution in sales and financial services.
“We are pleased to launch this first standalone Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned Centre by Hap Seng Star. It not only represents an extension of the Mercedes-Benz brand, but also help us further enhance our reach to a broader customer audience.
“As our dealer network grows with the launch of this Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-owned Centre, so does our ambition to create new experiences for our customers. Our successful partnership with Hap Seng Star allows us to continue creating customer touch points and most importantly, bringing the Mercedes-Benz brand closer to our customers,” said Mercedes-Benz Malaysia president and chief executive officer Dr Claus Weidner at the launching ceremony.
Weidner said there were a high demand for Mercedes-Benz pre-owned cars.
“Last year alone, we sold about 5,000 units of pre-owned cars, with more than half of it of Mercedes-Benz Certified standards,” he said.
The company also took the opportunity to announce the rebranded Mercedes-Benz Certified and introduced the used car leasing options under the Young Star Agility Programme.
Weidner added that a vehicle had to go through a thorough and stringent test in order to get the Mercedes-Benz Certified seal.
“The vehicle under the programme must be accident-free and sourced from Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s official distributor. It must not exceed six years, with a mileage not more than 125,000km. All vehicles offered through the programme are only serviced and maintained by a MercedesBenz authorised service centre using original spare parts.”
Weidner said in order to maintain the highest quality and standards, the vehicles had to undergo a comprehensive 215-point inspection and customers could count on the nine customer promises (test drive, trade-in, general inspection, genuine service and maintenance record, guaranteed mileage, 12-month warranty, finance and insurance services, service contracts and 24-hours road assistance) when buying the Mercedes-Benz Certified vehicles.
“Prior to purchasing a MercedesBenz Certified vehicle, customers are offered the option to test drive it to ensure it caters to their needs and preferability. Besides that, customers are given the option to trade-in their existing vehicle when purchasing a Mercedes-Benz Certified vehicle.
“All certified vehicles will be checked and verified for genuine service and maintenance records from an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer and ensured to have a guaranteed mileage at the time of the customer’s handover. These vehicle are also covered by a 12-month warranty extension with unlimited mileage above the remaining manufacturer warranty,” said Weidner.
He added that vehicles under the certified programme were offered with finance and insurance services, service contracts for the service and maintenance package, as well as the 24-hour road assistance.
