FATTAH AMIN, FAZURA WIN TOP AWARDS AT ABPBH
Khai, Wany are most popular male, female singers
CELEBRITY power-couple Fattah Amin and Nur Fazura Sharifuddin won the Most Popular TV Actor and Actress awards at the 31st Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) last night.
They both thanked their families and fan clubs, with Fazura saying her win was dedicated to her fans.
The star-studded annual awards show at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre here also saw singer Khai Bahar defending his Most Popular Male Singer award, while Wany Harita won Most Popular Female Singer.
Fendy Bakry dan Farah Nabilah bagged Most Popular New Artistes in the male and female categories, respectively.
Fendy, 30, who gained popularity through the hit drama series Mr Grey, beat Ariff Bahran dan Syafiq Farhain.
Born Mohd Affandi Nor Bakri, Fendy began his acting career after participating in a Hero Remaja 2011/2012 talent search.
Farah, a former TV commercial talent, rose to stardom through the drama Titian Cinta alongside popular actor Zul Ariffin.
The awards show was hosted by Ajak Shiro, Zara Zya and Janna Nick, with performances by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, Datuk Jeffrydin, Ramlah Ram, Misha Omar, Siti Sarah Raissuddin, Kugiran Masdo and Syamel.
The glamorous night kicked off with an energetic performance by Mimi Fly, Ben Laden and Haqiem Rusli.
Singer Amy Mastura made the night memorable with a medley performance of her biggest hits like Lagu Happy and Sha Na Na.
Newcomers Ismail Izzani and Nabila Razali, who are making waves in the music scene, performed their hit songs Luar Biasa and Pematah Hati, respectively.
The annual awards show, organised by Berita Harian since 1987, is held to honour and recognise talent in the local entertainment industry for film, television and music.
Aired live on TV3, ABPBH has been dubbed as the most prestigious awards show for the entertainment industry.
Winners are selected via online voting.
