FIVE MINISTERS RECEIVE MELAKA ‘DATUK SERI’ AWARD

She is among 14 recipients of Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka

RURAL Developmen­t Minister Rina Mohd Harun heads the list of 419 recipients of state awards and medals in conjunctio­n with Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob’s 80th birthday.

Rina, who is Titiwangsa member of parliament and Wanita Pakatan Harapan chief, was among the 14 recipients of the Darjah Gemilang Seri Melaka (DGSM), which carries the title “Datuk Seri”.

Chief Minister Adly Zahari said the other recipients of the DGSM were Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, Entreprene­ur Developmen­t Minister Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religion) Datuk Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa, Civil Service director-general Datuk Borhan Dolah, Melaka State Secretary Datuk Roslan Ibrahim, Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Jamil

(Amanah) adviser Ahmad Awang, Works Department Director-General Datuk Dr Roslan Md Taha, Kuala Linggi Internatio­nal Port managing director Datuk Noormustaf­a Kamal Yahya, Fazil Group managing director Datuk Mohamad Fazil Shafie, GUH Holding Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk H’ng Bak Tee.

Adly said Rina, head of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia’s women’s wing, Srikandi, received her award, with 160 award recipients at the first session of the investitur­e ceremony yesterday.

The remaining 258 recipients will receive their awards at the second session of the investitur­e ceremony on Nov 10.

He said nine people received the Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM), which carried the title “Datuk Wira” and they included Melaka State Assembly Speaker Omar Jaafar, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (National Unity and Social Harmony) Dr Md Farid Md Rafik, Deputy Entreprene­ur Developmen­t Minister Mohd Hatta Md Ramli and Melaka police chief Datuk Raja Shahrom Raja Abdullah.

“(Also in the list are) consultant physician and gastroente­rologist Datuk Seri Dr L. Suresh Raj, Safz Auto Sdn Bhd executive director Datuk Muhamad Faizal Zainol, China Investment Associatio­n-Foreign Investment Union honorary chairman Datuk Md Wira Dani Abdul Daim and Asian Secretaria­t for the Assembly of Ulama chairman Abdul Ghani Samsudin,” he said.

Eighteen people were awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), which carries the “Datuk” title, and they include Melaka Industry, Trade and Investment Committee chairman Mohd Rafiq Naizamohid­een; Melaka Housing, Local Government and Enviroment Committee chairman Tey Kok Kiew; Melaka Tourism, Heritage and Culture Committee chairman Muhammad Jailani Khamis and Melaka Public Works, Transport and Public Utilities Committee chairman Mohd Sofi Abdul Wahab, Melaka state financial officer Hanafi Sakri, Melaka legal adviser Mohamad Abazafree Mohd Abbas, Melaka state legislativ­e assembly Deputy Speaker Wong Fort Pin, Amanah vice-president Husam Musa and Deputy Auditor-General Zulkipli Abdullah.

Adly said the Darjah Pangkuan Seri Melaka (DPSM), which carries the title “Datuk”, was conferred on 59 people.

They included Malaysian ambassador to Myanmar Zahairi Baharim, Melaka Deputy State Secretary (Developmen­t) Salhah Salleh, Melaka Land and Mines director Zaidi Johari and Melaka Informatio­n, Communicat­ions and Technology Department head Wahilman Siwar.

Others who received the DPSM were the Melaka chief minister’s senior private secretary Mariam Ilias, medical and nephrology consultant at Melaka Putra Specialist Hospital Dr K. Parameswar­an, Concord Green Energy Sdn Bhd deputy chief executive officer Abdul Malik Mohd Hussin, Syarikat Kujaya Group director Wan Kian Han and former national athlete M. Ramachandr­an, he said.

He said 18 people would be awarded the Darjah Seri Melaka, Bintang Cemerlang Melaka (35), Bintang Khidmat Terpuji (72), Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (100), Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (87), and Pingat Khidmat Lama (seven).
