PM to table 11MP review today

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The mid-term review of the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP) will be tabled in Parliament today.

Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said it would be presented by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at 4pm.

“The report is unique because it is an important document not only to discuss the performance for the past two years (2016 to 2017), but also to set the tone on the new direction while emphasising Malaysia’s socio-economic development from this year to 2020.

“For that purpose, the Economic Planning Unit has examined the Pakatan Harapan manifesto to streamline the initiatives and strategies in line with PH’s commitment to tackle the challenges,” Azmin said in Parliament here yesterday.

He said 11MP was one of Malaysia’s long-term plans from 2016 to 2020, adding that Malaysia was in the final stages to achieve a developed and inclusive nation in line with Vision 2020.

The report is expected to outline new priorities and emphasis to develop the country and meet people’s hopes in the final three years of the 11MP under the government.

The economic policies are expected to balance the goals of economic growth and fiscal consolidation initiatives, and ensure continuous and inclusive development without undermining growth prospects.

It will also focus on infrastructure development.
