JOHOR BARU: The former director of Pontian National Youth Skill College (KKBN) pleaded not guilty at Sessions Court here to embezzling RM11,315 allocated for students’ allowance and an administration fund in 2014.

Zunaidah Abdul Razak, 56, made the plea after the charge sheet was read to her before judge Kamarudin Kamsun.

Based on the charge sheet, Zunaidah, a housewife now, was charged with embezzling the money for her own use.

The money was allocated for students’ allowance and the college’s administration.

She was charged with committing the offence at Pontian Kechil CIMB Berhad at Wisma Koperasi, Jalan Taib, on May 28, 2014.

She was charged under Section 403 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum five year’s jail and whipping and can be fined, if convicted.

The court set Nov 22 for remention of the case.

The accused arrived at the court at 9am and was escorted by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officers.

The accused appeared calm when the charge was read.

The prosecutor offered RM15,000 bail in one surety.

The accused, however, asked for a lower bail as she’s now a housewife, her husband ran a business and she had two children in university.

The court set the bail at RM10,000 in one surety.
