NURULHIDAYAH Ahmad Zahid has been criticised for posting a video of her daughter reacting to her father, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s criminal charges.

Among those who shared their disapproval was Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Hannah Yeoh.

“Parents should protect their children and not allow such videos of them to be floating on the Internet,” Yeoh said, referring to a 28-second clip of the child’s response that was posted on her mother’s Instagram account.

“We should stop sharing the child’s video. She is too young to understand what is going on and it is normal for kids to be attached to their grandparents.

“Adults should know better and not manipulate their emotions. The child is innocent,” Yeoh tweeted yesterday.

In the video, Nurulhidayah’s daughter, dressed in a mock Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) lock-up T-shirt, is seen hitting out at the charges levelled against her grandfather, Zahid, who is Umno president.

“You can lock my grandpa up, but not his soul and his fighting spirit. We are his family and we’ll never stop praying for him.

“I will make your life unpeaceful. I will make you regret your life. Remember, I am only 9 years old and I am my country’s future,” she said.

Zahid is facing 45 charges of criminal breach of trust, corruption and money laundering.

He pleaded not guilty to all the charges last Friday and is out on a RM2 million bail.
