RAZER PHONE 2

-

THE smartphone has become an indispensable tool for many, so much so that a niche segment has emerged ― the gaming smartphone. While gaming on a smartphone is not the most comfortable experience, there are some who would settle for nothing but the very best, and Razer is catering to this group with the Razer Phone 2. Touted to be the flagship mobile gaming device, the Razer Phone 2 takes off from where its predecessor broke new ground last year.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with the Adreno 630 GPU, the Razer Phone 2 delivers up to 30 per cent more performance without heating up courtesy of its Razer vapour chamber cooling system that provides additional surface area for heat to dissipate. In terms of imaging, the Razer Phone 2 features an 8MP shooter on the front that supports full HD video streaming, while the back camera carries a rear dual-camera setup that comprises a 12MP wide-angle lens with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x zoom.

To keep in step with the rest of the

Razer ecosystem, the Razer Phone 2 is also powered by Razer Chroma, enabling its triple-headed snake logo to glow in

16.8 million colours as it delivers app notifications.

The 5.7-inch UltraMotion IGZO display is touted to be the only true 120Hz screen in the market that delivers high framerates and silky-smooth action sans lag or stuttering, while being 50 per cent brighter than before.

It is a pity no NFC support is included, as that would surely help justify the US$799 (RM3,319) price point. The phone comes in two colours ― Mirror Black and Satin Black variants.
