investors with 11 companies, such as Panasonic Energy (M) Sdn Bhd Fuji Electric Malaysia, Fuji Logistics Malaysia, Fujimi-Micro Technology, Hamadatec, Hoya Electronics, Showa Denko HD Malaysia, Tomoe Industrial Gas Malaysia, and Toyo-Memory Technology.

One of the major advantages of investing at KHTP is the access to a talented labour pool; more than 70 per cent of workers come from Kedah. The added advantage is the infrastructure and ecosystem provided by the park and fast and readily-available logistic solutions.

Another advantage is the access to key markets in the Asia-Pacific region through Malaysia. KHTP is about 40 minutes from Penang International Airport.

KTPC has developed KHTP as a greenfield area, a well-integrated science park. Careful planning of the project by the government has helped create a development that balances work, life and the environment while bringing tremendous benefits to investors and the local population.

There are six zones at the park: industrial; urban; housing; institutional; amenity, research, development and training. Green reserves have also been integrated into the plan. This zoning allows people to work and live in a pleasurable environment.

More than 1,800ha have been developed, with a further 242ha set to be developed in the KHTP Master Plan 2.

Prime industrial land is available for long-term lease, while commercial space at several purpose-built centres can be rented.

The prime office space and buildings for rent at offer more options for those wishing to conduct business at this park. These spaces can be rented by companies while awaiting the completion of their facilities.

Companies that offer services to park tenants can make use of this office space, providing visibility and ease of access. The office space is perfect for organisations to establish branches to serve people at the park and surrounding areas.

KHTP is responsible for 11.6 per cent of the state’s gross domestic product, or 39.7 per cent of Kedah’s manufacturing GDP. KHTP has contributed more than 10 per cent of the state’s GDP annually for more than 10 years.

From 1996 to 2016, the park has seen 28,000 jobs created, and indirect cumulative job creation of 239,188 jobs.

The average monthly wage of workers at the park is RM3,450, which is higher than the national average of RM2,000.

It is believed that the park will realise Malaysia as a developed nation as well as making it as profit centre for investors.
