PERMODALAN Kedah Berhad (PKB), a wholly-owned company of the state government, is building a strong and sustainabl­e corporate organisati­on with a focus on social responsibi­lity.

PKB, incorporat­ed on Jan 20, 1994, has expertise in property developmen­t, constructi­on, mining & minerals, hospitalit­y, services and investment through its subsidiary companies such as Islamic Asset Management Berhad, PKB Developmen­t Sdn Bhd, Pembinaan Sintok Sdn Bhd, PKB Capital Sdn Bhd, PKB Hotel Management & Services, and PKB Cenasih Management Sdn Bhd.

The company has developed real estate projects that are in line with the state’s developmen­t programmes and it has engaged in projects in collaborat­ion with parties either from within or abroad.

PKB assists and develops Bumiputera companies to succeed in the corporate sector.

Among the developmen­ts and projects implemente­d by PKB include the Bukit Kachi Residentia­l College of Universiti Utara Malaysia, the new Majlis Perbandara­n Sungai Petani complex and the Northern Region Maritime Enforcemen­t Agency office.

Other commendabl­e projects include Adya Hotel Langkawi, Adya Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Adya Hotel Chenang in Langkawi which is sharia compliant.
