FOR the first time, MyRumah Property Showcase organised by the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) will be held here at Aeon Klebang. It will be the fifth and final series of the showcase this year. The three-day event will kick off on Friday from 10am to 10pm.

NSTP advertising general manager Roche Chew said Ipoh was chosen as the final stop following overwhelming response from the four previous series.

“I think we have always wanted to do one more venue up north because we have done it in Sungai Petani and Alor Star, Kedah, and I guess we still have a bit of time this year before we end 2018.

“We decided to contact our team and developer partners, and we finally made it,” he said at a media briefing with developers at Aeon Klebang yesterday.

Present were NSTP southern region advertising head S. Linggaraj and MyRumah project manager Mohd Haslan Abdul Abbas.

The first four MyRumah series this year were held in Shah Alam, Sungai Petani, Johor Baru and Melaka, attracting 45,800 visitors.

Chew said five property developers and one non-developer would be part of the exhibition, with more than 1,000 homes on offer.

“The developers are SPNB Aspirasi Sdn Bhd, Rima Properties Holding Sdn Bhd, Sun Land Properties Sdn Bhd, Casa Subang Sdn Bhd and P.K Lee Sdn Bhd, with Takaful Ikhlas Bhd also taking part.

“These developers feature medium- to high-end housing properties in Ipoh and Gurun, Kedah, with prices set between RM300,000 and RM500,000.”

Properties on offer in Perak are a singlestorey semi-detached project in Metro Maya, Batu Gajah; double-storey terrace houses in Taman Klebang Rima, Ipoh; and, double-storey terrace houses in Sundland Residence, Jalan Kuala Kangsar.

Properties on offer in Gurun are singlestorey and double-storey semi-datached houses in Taman Permai Utara.

Chew said seven renowned property experts would be speaking about tips and trends in the property market, adding that there would be lucky draws and children’s activities.

“This time, we invited popular TV host Maria Tunku Sabri on the last day of the event for a special cooking demonstration. She will share her personal experience in property investment, including the seven-storey bungalow that has gone viral on social media.”

He said the exhibition was expected to attract 10,000 visitors and would be launched by state Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Paul Yong.

“MyRumah is a premier property platform that helps buyers secure their ideal home in a unique way. It promotes home ownership and facilitates homebuyers to have easy access to premium yet affordable housing available in the market.

“This is in line with MyRumah’s 3E concept of ‘Education, Exhibition and Experience’ to enrich visitors’ involvement and familiarity with the nation’s premier property showcase.”
