‘Rumours on Rafizi as VP, Nazri’s claims should be discussed internally’

-

JOHOR BARU: Rumour that Rafizi Ramli may be appointed as PKR vice-president and allegations by Padang Rengas member of parliament Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, who said he had met PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, should be discussed within the party.

PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin said the two issues should be discussed at the party’s weekly Political Bureau meeting.

She said until now, no discussion had been held to address the claims.

“I do not know. The rumour (that Rafizi may be appointed vice-president) is indeed possible, and the decision should be discussed in the Political Bureau.

“As for Nazri’s claim, I do not know if it is true. It is best to wait for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to bring the matter to the Political Bureau and explain to us.”

Zuraida said this after visiting plastic scrap processing plant See Hau Global Sdn Bhd in Ulu Tiram here yesterday.

Present were state Local Government, Science and Technology Committee chairman Tan Hong Pin and state Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Yahaya Madis.

On Thursday, PKR communications director Ahmad Fahmi Mohamed Fadzil said he did not rule out the possibility of Rafizi being appointed as the party’s vice-president for 2018-2021.

According to a news report, Nazri had requested four things from Anwar when the latter becomes prime minister.

The requests included ensuring that Umno would not be dissolved and that former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak would not be abused.

Anwar said he had met and had an open discussion with Nazri, with the gist of the meeting on PKR and Pakatan Harapan’s reforms agenda.

“The discussion was held openly. However, I replied consistently that our discussion would be on the need for all to support the reforms agenda.”
