THE Malaysia Football League (MFL) chief executive Kevin Ramalingam believes his organisation have so far made right decisions to uplift the prestige and image of the M-League.

Kevin said the MFL board have addressed all issues accordingly in the M-League and that football in the country is in good hands.

MFL face a challenge in regard to Perlis’ financial woes as many have criticised the organisation for granting the former Malaysia Cup champions a spot in the Premier League this year.

Kevin said Perlis will have to submit their financial report by Friday.

“All decisions are made by our board. The chief executive does not make decisions.

“Our board have proven in the past that they are capable of making difficult decisions like docking points and demotions. Some decisions are unpopular, but it is important for the future of the league.

“We are waiting for Perlis to submit their report and from there, it will be presented to the board,” said Kevin yesterday.

Kevin also said teams should stop depending on annual grants from MFL to settle debts.

“We have informed every team about the grants. We will not give out grants to teams with debts until they have settled them.

“The goal is to stop this unhealthy cycle of teams using grants to settle debts accumulated from the previous seasons,” he added.

It is understood that PFA have a debt of RM700,000 incurred from last season’s FAM Cup.
