1. GULMARG, KASHMIR:

-

This panoramic photo was taken at a small stream in a mountain area in Kashmir. I applied the C-shaped rule, as can be seen in the background, as well as the rule of thirds. Pic setting: Focal length 16mm, ISO 50, aperture f/11, shutter speed 6 sec.

2. THAIPUSAM, PENANG:

In this photo, the starburst effect gives an extraordinary impact to the photo. I set the aperture to the smallest f/22 to get the starburst effect. Pic setting: Focal length 16mm, ISO 640, aperture f/22, shutter speed 1/60 sec.

3. CHARCOAL FACTORY WORKER, KUALA SEPETANG:

The usage of a subject can create an impact to a photo and tell a story. Props like a bicycle create a balance to the subject and strengthen the story. Pic setting: Focal length 190mm, ISO 400, aperture f/2.8, shutter speed 1/160 sec.

4. BOHEY DULANG, SEMPORNA:

This sea view photo was taken from a hilltop on Bohey Dulang Island in Semporna, Sabah. The top-down angle gives a better impact to the vast blue sea of Semporna. Pic setting: Focal length 16mm, ISO 640, aperture f/16, shutter speed 1/125 sec.

5. WATERWAY OF DAL LAKE, KASHMIR:

The use of contrasting colours like yellow and blue with shadows and reflection gives an easy-to-the-eye view. Pic setting: This photo was taken on a moving boat, hence a stable hand is required to prevent blurry photos. Pic setting: Focal length 23mm, ISO 400, aperture f/8, shutter speed 1/250 sec.
