Kedah wary of being on top

Aidil Sharin does not want the impressive win to add more pressure on Kedah.

“It was a superb win. However, we must forget about tonight (Saturday) and shift our focus on PJ City who we will meet in Petaling Jaya on Friday.

“Being at the top comes with pressure, so we need to adapt to the situation. If we keep winning, I believe we can do well,” said the Singapore-born coach.

PJ City moved to fifth after a 32 victory over Perak SEDC in Manjung. Pedro Henrique (45th), Giancarlo Rodrigues (73rd) and R. Barathkuma­r (82nd) netted for PJ City while Kalidou Yero (29th) and Hafiz Ramdan (51st) responded for the home side.

PJ City coach K. Devan said: “The win over Perak SEDC is our first of the season, and we hope to continue our momentum against Kedah.”

In another match, Pahang were held 1-1 by Melaka at the Hang Jebat Stadium.

Pahang took the lead through Herold Goulon (fifth) before former national captain Safiq Rahim equalised for Melaka from the spot a minute before the final whistle.

In the Premier League, Selangor United edged Sarawak 3-2 at Selayang Stadium for their second win of the season.

Sergio Aguero (seventh), Abdul Hadi Yahya (78th) and Raslam Khan Abdul Rashid (90th) netted for Selangor United. Sarawak reduced the deficit through Hudson de Jesus (16th) and Bobby Gonzales (87th).

In other matches, Penang defeated Police 1-0 while Sabah overcame Terengganu FC II 3-1.
