ATOTAL of 864 units of affordable homes under a development project by Selangor State Development Corp (PKNS) called Selangorku Idaman Residensi, will be available for the low-and middle-income groups residing in Cyberjaya and Putrajaya by mid-2021.

PKNS acting chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the housing project, now open for registration, was located at Seksyen 6, Selangor Cyber Valley (SCV) and comprised four units for disabled people.

“The new apartment is located near Cyberjaya and Putrajaya, SCV which is the 11th township developed by PKNS. It is hoped to attract investments and business opportunities to the area.”

Each unit at Selangorku Idaman Residensi is sold at RM232,000 and covers an area of more than 1,000sq ft.

“SCV is developed as a smart city that incorporates modern technology. This will be the main feature for local and international investors,” she said at the launch of the project.

She said SCV would cater to businesses and international conferences to bring Selangor into the Asean business corridor.

Norita said the RM191.1 million project was expected to be completed in 2021.

She said more than 50 years since the establishment of PKNS, 14,131 housing units had been developed in Selangor with 60,907 units being low-cost homes.

From the total, she said, 2,235 units were affordable homes in locations such as Bukit Botak, Bandar Baru Bangi, Kota Puteri, Antara Gapi, Subang Bestari and Shah Alam.

“Another development project comprising 1,882 home units is in the pipeline in areas including Hulu Selangor, Sepang, Klang, Puncak Alam and Gombak.

“In five years, PKNS and its subsidiaries are planning to build more than 11,000 units of Rumah Selangorku.”

Present were Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and state Housing and Urban Living committee member Haniza Mohamed Talha.

Amirudin said the Rumah Selangorku project had surpassed its early target of 15,000 units last year.

He said up to Aug 31, 28,639 units had been developed and keys had been handed to 3,770 owners.

Construction is ongoing for 24,869 units, which is expected to be completed by early 2025.
