FOR a limited time, the facelifted Iriz will be available for booking for just RM9.99. The flash promotion began on Friday and will end at 11.59pm on Mar 11.

Customers who make the online booking prior to the launch will also be rewarded with free road tax for a period of two years.

“By holding a flash promotion, we want to make the 2019 Iriz accessible to more potential buyers,” said Proton chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong.

Aside from the low commitment fee, we are also offering convenience as bookings can be placed online. This is, however, a limited time offer so we would encourage interested parties to book their units as soon as possible.”

The Iriz was unveiled on Thursday to the media at a preview session at Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam.

The car has undergone a minor exterior restyle.

Inside, it is now equipped with an intelligent head unit which is equipped with voice recognition and the “Hi Proton” function.

The car is equipped with new headlights and a new grille with the Ethereal Bow design element as seen on the X70.

The front bumper also has sleek new LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

On the rear, the tailgate garnish includes new Proton lettering instead of the logo as seen on the previous model.

The car is also equipped with new alloy rims.

The 7-inch head unit on the Iriz uses an imbedded eSIM card and offers apps for music streaming, navigation and voice recognition with full colour display.

The Iriz is available in five variants, namely Standard 1.3L MT, Standard 1.3L CVT, Executive 1.3L CVT, Executive 1.6L CVT and Premium 1.6L CVT.

Proton says it has improved 367 items in the Iriz, and customers can expect better brake performance, NVH, fuel consumption along with improved customer experience. The Iriz’s quality has also improved, with a better Global Customer Product Audit (GCPA) rating.

The 1.3 litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder VVT engine produces 94 hp at 5,750 rpm, while the 1.6 litre unit makes 107 hp at 5,750rpm.
