X70 OWNERS DRIVE TO HANGZHOU

-

PERUSAHAAN Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton), the second largest national carmaker, has flagged off nine Proton X70 owners to Hangzhou, China. Organised and led by Borneo Automobile Leisure Touring Team and the Kunming Scenery Customer International Travel Co. China, the Malaysia — China Amazing Trip will span across four countries, 13 cities and over 13,000km. The 33 participants will take approximately 33 days to complete the journey.

Proton has set up checkpoints along the route at dealer locations and service centres to welcome the participants as an initiative to showcase its customer service.

A flag-off ceremony was held at the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam and their destination is Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, which is home to Proton’s joint venture Partner, Geely.

The participants will get the chance to visit the Geely Experience Centre and learn more about how Geely transformed into one of the fastest growing automotive companies in the world. They also stand a chance to view its newest models.

After completing their visit to Hangzhou, the participants will return to Malaysia via a different route, with the final destination being the Proton Centre of Excellence in Shah Alam, Selangor. For Proton, the trip presents an opportunity to showcase the Proton X70 to buyers in the overseas market, especially those in Asean countries, which are key to the company’s future sales growth. It will prove that the Proton X70 is capable of performing in different environments and road conditions.

“While this is a private initiative, Proton is happy to offer its support as a sign of appreciation to its customers. The Proton X70 has been well received by Malaysians. We hope that by showing regional car buyers its capabilities, we will lay the groundwork for future export sales success,” said its deputy chief executive officer Datuk Radzaif Mohamed during the flagging off ceremony.

Proton has delivered over 5,500 units of the Proton X70 since it was launched in December.
