Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob yesterday said the state government would also like to thank Economic Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Azmin Ali for visiting the Menteri Besar’s Office recently.

“The state government would like to express our gratefulness to God, as well as the prime minister for his generosity in approving the allocation for us.

“We would also like to thank Datuk Seri Azmin (Ali), who is also Kelantan state Action Council chairman, for paying a courtesy call to the

“During the visit, he

(Azmin) also chaired the first council meeting here,” he said.

During the meeting, Ahmad said Azmin announced the five projects and the amount allocated by the federal government to Kelantan under the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).

“The state government will give its full support to ensure the success of the projects.

“We would also like to express our support for the prime minister’s decision that there be no more political appointments to the council,” he said.

Ahmad said the state government believed that the appointment of Azmin as the Kelantan state Action Council chairman was the right choice.

Azmin on Thursday was reported to have said that the state would stand to benefit from five key projects worth RM1.4 billion, which were being carried out under the 11MP.

He said the projects were the East Coast Highway 3, Central Spine Road, extension and upgrading of the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa, Kota Baru-Kuala Krai Highway and the Palekbang bridge.
