The legendary crooner shares a few thoughts ahead of his concert tomorrow, writes

AFTER 50 years and countless timeless classics, British crooner Engelbert Humperdinc­k is still going strong. From humble beginnings as a teenage saxophone player in Leicester to topping the British charts with his first mega-hit Release Me in 1967 to headlining concerts as a musical touring force, the man, known as Arnold George Dorsey, has conquered the world of music and the hearts of millions with his unique voice and witty personalit­y

And tomorrow, he returns to a familiar stage — the Arena of Stars at Resorts World Genting — for The Angel On My Shoulder tour. Humperdinc­k Show on UK television and extravagan­t performanc­es in Las Vegas, a concert by Humperdinc­k is definitely one to remember. believe it speaks to my life, where it is and where it has been with the everlastin­g love I’ve received from above,” said Humperdinc­k.

“I’ve always felt the guiding hand of someone in my life. Several times, I could have easily gone on a different path or not even made another day.

“When I was a boy, I fell into a sharkinfes­ted timber pond and my brother, who could not swim either, pulled me out as he balanced on a log. I was also stricken with tuberculos­is as a young man and was forced to watch many in my ward leave this life. I am lucky to be here today. I’ve had an angel for sure.”
