SMART GLASSES
THE smart glasses craze seems to have died down somewhat in recent times, as there really isn’t any viable method of packing in long hours of performance without taking battery capacity into consideration. Vuzix has introduced the Vuzix M400 enterprise smart glasses, being one of the first products powered by the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 platform. The M400 will focus on wearability, experience, and form factor in its design, and with the XR1 driving it from underneath the hood, users will be able to experience a whole new level of performance.
The Vuzix M400 aims to usher in smart glasses as a mainstream device which will eventually help to increase employee productivity within the fast growing sphere of Artificial Intelligence and immersive computing. The device is powered by the Snapdragon XR1 platform with an ARM-based multicore Central Processing, vector processor, Graphics Processing Unit and Qualcomm AI
Engine. All of these will work in tandem to deliver a power efficient performance for vision-based machine learning algorithms which will be able to assist greatly with key Augmented Reality cases such as superior pose prediction and object classification, among others.
Touted to be released in the third quarter of this year, the Vuzix M400 will feature close to full compatibility with Vuzix’s existing software collection.
