Mercedes launches 2 new SUV models
MERCEDES-BENZ Malaysia Sdn Bhd has added two new models, the GLC 300 Coupe and GLE 450, to its sport utility vehicle (SUV) line-up.
The GLC 300 Coupe AMG Line is available in only one variant with an estimated price of RM399,888.
The GLE 450 AMG Line comes in two variants - five-seater and sevenseater. The five-seater is priced at an estimated RM633,888 while the seven-seater is priced at around RM638,888. All the prices are excluding insurance.
Powering the locally-assembled GLC 300 Coupe AMG Line is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with the nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. It produces 245hp at 5,500rpm and 370Nm of torque at between 1,300rpm and 4,000rpm.
Mercedes-Benz claims that the GLC 300 Coupe AMG Line can complete the century sprint in 6.5 seconds and has a top speed of 240kph.
It is equipped with dynamic AMG bodystyling, adaptive highbeam assist, aluminium-look running boards, 20-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, intelligent drive system that features lane tracking package and blind spot assist, hands-free access, active parking assist with Parktronic, Artico leather seats, illuminated door sills, AMG sports pedals and black piano-lacquer look or light longitudinal-grain aluminium trim.
“It is an SUV and a coupe, two outstanding traits of two automotive worlds,” said its sales and marketing vice-president Mark Raine at the launching ceremony.
As for the fully-imported GLE 450 AMG Line, it is running on the 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, mated to the ninespeed 9-G Tronic automatic transmission. Power is rated at 367hp from 5,500rpm to 6,100rpm, and 500Nm of torque at 1,600rpm to 4,500rpm.
Performance wise, the GLE 450 AMG Line can complete the century dash in 5.7 seconds but its top speed is electronically limited to 250kph.
The GLE 450 AMG Line is equipped with 22-inch AMG fivespoke light-alloy wheels, Multibeam LED graphics, panoramic sliding sunroof, brushed aluminium trim, diamond radiator grille with chrome pins, dynamic AMG body styling, acoustic comfort package that reduces disruptive noise when driving at high speed, E-Active Body Control active suspension system, Active Stop-and-Go Assist driving assistance, air suspension system and the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), which features two large 12.3-inch screens arranged side-by-side.
