Veteran confident of turning things around for Kelantan

-

Badhri Radzi, who rejoined Kelantan after leaving Perlis recently, hopes to help the east coast side regain their glory days in the M-League.

The midfielder was in the squad when Kelantan dominated the 2011 and 2012 M-League seasons with a total of five titles.

The 37-year-old will make his debut for Kelantan when they take on Terengganu FC II (TFC II) in a Premier League match at the Sultan Muhd IV Stadium tomorrow.

“Kelantan have many young players who are performing well. I hope Nik Akif Syahiran Nik Mat and Danial Haqim Draman, who are national Under-23 members, will both be able to contribute significantly in the ongoing season,” said Badhri.

“The youngsters need to have the confidence to turn things around for the club.”

Badhri was one of many senior players dropped by Kelantan last season as the club could not afford his salary demands.

He then joined Perlis for the current season but left the Premier League side after they failed to pay his salary.

“I think I will have no issues gelling with the players at Kelantan. It is great to be back here, and I hope to make a lasting impression.

“The target is, of course, to help Kelantan regain their Super League status,” he added.

Kelantan are currently ninth with only five points after six rounds, eight points behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim II.
