Get a workout partner, set realistic goals and remember why you started.

A fruit and vegetable shake with moringa powder or wholemeal bread with peanut butter.

3 WHAT IS THE ONE DESSERT YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Cendol with lots of gula Melaka and red bean.

4 HOW LONG DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?

Eight hours.

5 WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE PRE-EXERCISE/ PRE-RACE FUEL?

Prime Nitric Oxide powder.

6 HOW DO YOU RECOVER FROM A HARD WORKOUT?

Go for a massage, steam bath and Jacuzzi.

7 HOW DO YOU PREVENT INJURY?

It’s best to stretch after warm-up and cool down.

8 WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO GET PEOPLE TO EXERCISE?

Use your muscles or you lose them! Have shortterm goals to achieve a long, healthier life.

9 WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SOURCE OF PROTEIN?

Plant protein, especially moringa.

10 ARE YOU PRO- OR ANTI-CARBOHYDRA­TES?

Anti. I may not eat rice but I do like nasi lemak but only as a treat, once in a blue moon.

11 WHAT DO YOU RUN IN?

Reebok Reezig.

12 WHAT’S THE ONE THING THAT EXERCISE HAS TAUGHT YOU?

Besides burning off fat and increasing endurance, I’ve discovered that I can dance and perform in front of a crowd.

13 WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE TIME TO EXERCISE?

Mostly in the morning. Keeping to a consistent workout schedule is extremely important. It will help lower the risk of cardiovasc­ular disease as one gets older.

14 WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE WORKOUT MEMORY?

Dancing to the Bollywood number Chammak Challo.

15 DO YOU LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE EXERCISING?

Sometimes, but I also use the time for gospel reading! For example, I listen to Unlocking the Bible with David Pawson on YouTube while walking in the park.
