PNB TARGETS 150,000 VISITORS

Event aims to enhance financial literacy among Malaysians, says Rahman

PERMODALAN Nasional Bhd (PNB) has targeted 150,000 visitors for its flagship Minggu Saham Amanah Malaysia (MSAM), to be held in Sungai Petani, Kedah, on April 19-25.

PNB president and group chief

executive Datuk Abdul Rahman Ahmad said MSAM was in line with its objective to enhance financial literacy among Malaysians.

“In collaborat­ion with the Kedah government, MSAM will provide multiple platforms and activities for visitors to explore and understand the journey of their investment­s,” he said at the curtain raiser, here, yesterday.

The public would be able to see the strength of the companies through their unit trust holdings with Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB), said Rahman.

A new logo for MSAM has also been introduced in conjunctio­n with its 20th year.

Corporate partners for MSAM are Malayan Banking Bhd, Sime Darby Plantation Bhd, SP Setia Bhd and UMW Holdings Bhd, which are in the Rakan Premier category.

Sime Darby Bhd, Projek Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd, MNRB Holdings Bhd, Takaful Ikhlas Bhd, MIDF Bhd, Sime Darby Property Bhd, Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) and Heitech Padu Bhd are Rakan Utama partners, while Duopharma Biotech Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd and CCM Bhd are Rakan partners.

Rahman said the event would be packed with activities suitable for all ages.

There will be exciting prizes to be won at the event, such as a Perodua Aruz, a Honda Dash motorcycle and an iPhone.

Those who enter the e-contest stand a chance to win a Ford Ranger 2.2L XLT, a Toyota Vios 1.56 and a Yamaha R25 motorcycle, among others.

The annual event has attracted a total of 3.8 million visitors since 2000.

Last year’s MSAM was held in Batu Pahat, Johor, which attracted more than 216,800 visitors.
