SECURITY guard Yahya Manap has plans to sue a comedian who punched and kicked him in Taman Acacia, Nilai, on Saturday. Yahya, 70, who is fondly known as Pak Ya, said the comedian’s actions did not only cause physical injuries to the face but also trauma.

Yahya said he had been given three days of sick leave to recover from the ordeal.

“Until today, my body hurts and my head feels dizzy because I have trouble sleeping. My mind is troubled and I can’t think clearly.

“I am only resting and taking medication. Good thing that I have my wife and children to take care of me at home,” he told Harian Metro.

Yahya said he would seek further treatment if his condition did not improve.

When asked if the comedian or any of his representatives had contacted him to apologise, Yahya gave a negative reply.

“Give me time to rest and clear my thoughts. I am not ready to meet him (comedian).

“I can forgive what he did. But I feel the effects of his action until today.

“I may take legal action but this depends on the feedback from my family,” he said.

In the incident, Yahya sustained injuries on the nose with swelling on his face apart from pain in his waist and knee.

In the 8pm incident on Saturday the comedian, who was driving a Proton Perdana, entered a residential area where Yahya was working without permission to tail a resident’s vehicle.

The barrier was then closed, after which Yahya chased after the comedian.

A few minutes later, the comedian decided to leave but couldn’t as the barrier was down.

He got out of his vehicle and an argument broke out. He allegedly punched Yahya in the face, kicked him and threw stones.

Police said the case was being investigated under Section 323 and 427 of the Penal Code.

Nilai police chief Superintendent Mohd Nor Marzukee Besar said: “We (police) took the man to the court to obtain a remand order but the court ordered him to be released on bail.

“However, we are continuing with our investigation,” he said.

The comedian, who was wearing a blue shirt, was taken to the Seremban Court Complex in a police truck along with other detainees at 8.30am yesterday.
