United’s Sanchez set for return in crunch match against Everton

-

MANCHESTER: Alexis Sanchez is set to make his Premier League return for Manchester United against Everton tomorrow.

The Chile international has not played for the Red Devils since the beginning of March due to a knee injury.

But Sanchez came on in the final few moments in United’s 3-0 defeat at the Nou Camp on Tuesday night and now looks ready to play according to his manager.

Solskjaer said: “It was important that he got 15 minutes on the pitch and for his mentality as well — he knows his knee is okay.

“He was close to getting a goal. Hopefully he can give us a bit towards the end of the season so we can push to get into the top four.”

Luke Shaw will serve the second of a two-match ban for picking up 10 bookings during the campaign, but Ashley Young will be available following his onematch ban.

Eric Bailly has not played since sustaining a head injury while on international duty in March and there is no update as of yet on his fitness.

Nemanja Matic could have a part to play after the Serbian was named on the bench against Barcelona.

The former Chelsea midfielder has not played since the end of March, but could be utilised by Solskjaer with big games on the horizon.

It looks like this weekend's fixture will be too soon for Ander Herrera to return to the fold.

Like Matic, the Spaniard last played against the Hornets but continues to be sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The Red Devils sit sixth in the table, two points off Arsenal and Chelsea in fourth and fifth respectively and three points behind Tottenham in third.
