-

HYUNDAI-Sime Darby Motors Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the facelifted Elantra with a price tag of RM109,888, on-the-road excluding insurance.

“We believe this revolutionary new design that is modern, sporty and elegant will also appeal to a broader market of various age groups,” said managing director Low Yuan Lung.

The exterior of the Elantra has been redesigned with an overall length of 4,620mm, which is 70mm longer than the previous version. It has triangular headlights, tail lights, rear fog lamps, sporty radiator grille, a two-tone rear bumper, repositioned plate number, 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels and chrome moulding.

Its cabin has also been refreshed with a sporty chequered cluster meter design, newly designed multifunctional steering wheel with button control, all-black plush leather seats, and the soft touch material dashboard.

A single variant is put on offer, which is the 2.0L Executive. It maintained the same powertrain and transmission as the previous version. Powering the Elantra 2.0L Executive is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, resulting to 150hp at 6,200rpm and 192Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.

The Elantra has a stiffer torsional rigidity and 25.3 per cent greater bending strength, due to the used of the 53 per cent of advanced highstrength steel. As a result, it improves the vehicles ride, handling, quietness, durability and driving performance.

Equipment list includes Smart Drive Mode intelligent system that identifies the driver’s driving style and automatically selects the driving mode, chrome door handle with welcome light, projector halogen headlamps, fog lamps, LED daytime running lights with positioning light, auto fold side mirrors, 3.5-inch instrument cluster, smart key with start stop button, two usb ports, rear air vent, auto light control, tyre pressure monitoring system, and hands-free smart trunk.

As for the safety aspects of the Elantra, it is equipped with six airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, vehicle stability management, traction control, rear-view camera, parking guidance system, hill-start assist control, brake assist system, downhill brake control, rear parking assist system and ISOFIX child seat mounting points.

The Hyundai Elantra 2.0L Executive is available in five colours, namely the Phantom Black, Fiery Red, Teal Blue, Fluid Metal and Polar White. Simultaneously, the company also introduced two limited edition colours which are the Stargazing Blue and Sparkling metal. Each colour is limited to 30 units.

All of Hyundai’s new passenger vehicles are entitled to a five-year or 300,000km, whichever comes first, warranty. A 24-hour road assist service is also available for the new and existing Hyundai vehicles.
