PROPERTY developer SP Setia Bhd won a gold award for its Lepironia Garden development at the EdgeProp-ILAM Malaysia’s Sustainable Landscape Award 2019, which is part of EdgeProp Malaysia’s Best Managed Property Awards 2019.

Lepironia Garden is located in the township of Setia Eco Glades in Cyberjaya.

“All of us at SP Setia are extremely proud to receive this award as it proves that we have set a benchmark not only as a leading property developer, but also a top-of-class sustainable landscape developer in Malaysia — an important attribute that sets us apart from the rest,” said SP Setia deputy president and chief operating officer Datuk Wong Tuck Wai after accepting the award from Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin.

“We are happy that our strategies and good governance have continued to yield benefits for

the Setia Group in terms of recognition and as a frontrunner in the industry. It is also a testament to our strong reputation and will further cement our standing as a leader in the property sector.”

The sustainable landscape award acts as a measuring tool to complement properties that are designed, built and maintained for sustainability, so as to stimulate a continual improvement of the industry.

SP Setia is a leading listed real estate player with a portfolio that encompasses townships, ecosanctuaries, luxury enclaves, high-rise residences, commercial and retail as well as integratedmixed and transit-oriented developments.

The Setia Eco Glades is part of a RM3 billion certified Green Township and is set amid an abundance of flora and fauna.

“Combining residential luxury with eco-consciousness is, in fact, our unique expertise,” said Wong, adding that the project was a collection of eight islands, each set against themed gardens, and comprised linked-villas, semi-detached homes, bungalows and low-rise island villa suites.

Using a wide variety of water features, Lepironia Garden was created to enhance the sense of peace, calm and tranquility in Setia Eco Glades.

The 8.36ha Lepironia Garden was named after the resident species of the wetland plant Lepironia articulata, which was found in abundance on site.

Its green spaces consist of the central garden (1.17ha), streetscape (1.09ha) and the Orchard Garden (0.8ha).

With waterways that integrate seamlessly into the landscape, Lepironia Garden’s primary function in the master plan is as a working water filtration and erosion prevention system using the natural elements of plants.

“It is a known fact that wherever we set our footprint, we strive to connect with our communities, creating ecological features and sustainable living environments that enrich their lives, in line with SP Setia’s ‘LiveLearnWorkPlay’ development philosophy,” said Wong
