Set for world domination

-

FOUR ladies, one mission, world domination. Like it or not, it is the BlackPink era.

Upon their Kill This Love release, the track became a global phenomenon, re-writing YouTube’s record book with 56.7 million views within its first 24 hours, surpassing previous record holder, Ariana Grande’s Thank You, Next music video, with 55.4 million views.

Two days later, the music video went on to break another record for the fastest clip to reach 100 million views, surpassing Gangnam Style although BTS' Boy With Luv with Halsey took over shortly after.

However, that doesn’t take away the fact that these girls are in it to kill. Kill This Love is also the first song by an all-female group to hit No.1 since Destiny’s Child’s Lose My Breath in 2004.

BlackPink is also only the second Korean group to top the iTunes chart following BTS and very recently, it became also the first-ever Korean group to headline Coachella and the girls were bringing down the roof!

Kill This Love is infectious, groovy and gives you all the reason to want to get up and dance along. Their overthe-top aesthetic music video is also one of the many reasons for their success in the American market thus far.

Thundering bass, addictive chorus and those killer moves just keeps on giving. BlackPink is here to take over the world by storm.

JOnas BrOthers

THEY’VE always been the cool guys and now they finally made a song to make that statement.

The Jonas Brothers is made for showbiz and the boys are here to stay. Their latest single Cool is a follow-up from the previous comeback track Sucker, which got all eyes on the Jo Bros.

Let’s be honest, they are the comeback Kings. Six long years since their last song, the Jonas Brothers are here to prove that they’re back, bigger and even better.

Cool is a groovy mid tempo pop track about confidence and just embracing who you are. It has a really slick and addictive hook that just gets you dancing along.

The Jo Bros knew exactly the amount of self-positivity we need in our lives and its all part of the song. “Lately, I’ve been feeling so cool. Top to the bottom, just cool. Every little thing that I do. Dammit, I’m feeling so cooo-oool”.

It’s a really fun and infectious tune, the kind of song that lifts up the mood no matter how bad your day gets.

This song is nothing new but at the same time, everything we needed to hear. It’s joyful, entertaining and oozes a tonne of cool vibe. Safe to say, it’s another pretty cool return for the Jo Bros.

Looking forward to more!

sOs aViCii (Featuring alOe BlaCC)

IT’S been a year since Tim Bergling a.k.a, Avicii left the world. A young talent gone too soon, the world grieved and is still grieving.

Almost a year after his death, his music still lives. His first single since his death in April 2018 is here.

There has been a number of productions prior to his departure and little did we know, Tim left a couple of exceptionally detailed notes on each of his unfinished tracks.

The epitome of a perfectionist, he meticulously noted down how he wanted each track to sound and in one particular note, he wrote that he wanted to work with a specific singer-songwriter for the song

SOS, and that was Aloe Blacc.

According to Blacc, “I feel like SOS was probably ahead of its time when he wrote it. He wrote these lyrics obviously about some of his battles and it’s a really important topic to approach and to share, especially with his visibility and his access to ears and hearts”.

With Tim’s close friend and co-producer Carl Falk taking over the project, the complete version of SOS was released.

SOS was beautifully written, showcasing their songwriting talents and really does give us a good look into Tim’s personal struggles with lyrics like “can you hear me? SOS! help me put my mind to rest”.

The music video was accompanied by letters from fans all over the world, with seven million views and counting.

SOS serves as a tribute to the late Avicii. He may no longer be with us but his music will forever live. His forthcoming album Tim is set to drop in June.
