MALAYSIA remains an attractive investment destination among foreign investors, supported by its strong fundamentals. International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Darell Leiking said the country’s economy was more stable compared with many countries in the region.

“I believe that the fundamentals, along with the ecosystem of private and government sectors, will give confidence to new investments and reinvestments,” he said after opening Oracle Malaysia’s cloud solution hub, here, yesterday.

Leiking said the hub would boost Malaysia’s position as a premier digital hub in Southeast Asia.

“By welcoming investments by leading multinational technology giants like Oracle, the ministry aims to create an innovation

ecosystem to enable a seamless digital transformation journey for Malaysian businesses, especially small and medium enterprises,” he said.

InvestKL chief executive officer Datuk Zainal Amanshah said Oracle’s continuous investments demonstrated its confidence in Malaysia to move up the value chain in cloud and data technology.

“We will continue our strong support and collaboration as we believe this will greatly benefit Malaysia’s digital economy in widening the skilled talent pool, increasing employment opportunities and strengthening the economic growth.”

Oracle Corp Malaysia Sdn Bhd managing director Fitri Abdullah said the hub enabled the company to work with local government agencies and enterprises to accelerate their digital transformation strategies through Oracle’s latest technologies.

“We look forward to deepening our collaboration with the government and businesses.”
