A hero like no other

Newt was caught in a bind and didn’t how to explain his outfit. When he started to tremble, JJ and Cecil asked if it was Chris’s. Newt was overwhelme­d by the emotional weekend and told them to carry on celebratin­g Halloween without him. He then confessed that he couldn’t come up with any costume and immediatel­y his best friends decided to transform Newt’s outfit.

Newt’s dejection of “...instead of being somebody, I guess I won’t be anybody” was met with “Tell them you are your own creation”. With a pair of scissors and a glue gun, they fashioned a superhero outfit with the words CN on it for Newt. To add some magic, they got him to wear a mask. His reflection caught his breath and he immediatel­y felt re-energised. And off they went trick or treating!

The trio headed out to the neighbourh­ood and were greeted with enthusiasm and recognitio­n. The first couple were doubtful that Mozart was at their door but the lady of the house spotted Splendida right away. JJ and Cecil were impressed. Newt, however, felt a rush of panic when they asked him outright who ‘CN’ was. No one else had noticed the initials across Newt’s forehead. Newt was tongue tied and Cecil, along with JJ, tried to improvise with the name Commander Nuclear. Newt denied the name and after some questionin­g, he proudly declared with the biggest and bravest smile that he was Captain Nobody!

As they left that house, they expressed their surprise at Newt’s quick-thinking. Captain Nobody — a hero like no other. The air of mystery around the name worked magic that night as they went from house to house and scored a tonne of candy. As the night went on, Newt felt less and less like Newt and more and more like the real
