TOP Malaysian singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has a new single to be released at the end of this month.

As its release date may suggest, this will be another spiritual single from the 40-year-old songbird.

Siti is excited with this new song as she is collaborating with two singers from Indonesia and Singapore.

“I’ve already done the recording and filming for the music video,” she says, adding that separate recording sessions were held.

Pressed to reveal details of the song, she politely said it was not appropriate for her to divulge more.

“For the time being, I cannot reveal the name of the two singers or even the song title and composer.

But one singer is male while the other is female, she reveals.

“You will have to wait for the announcement from Universal Music and Apple Music,” she says.

The idea for the collaboration of three

artistes from three countries apparently came from both companies.

A check with Universal Music Malaysia, however, revealed that it will be a Hari Raya song and “it is composed by Omar K. and Ikhwan Fatanna”.

However, further details on the single are unavailable. Both the single and the music video will be released on all platforms on May 31.

On April 30, Siti uploaded a picture of her riding a horse on her Instagram. The photo was believed to be taken during the filming for one of the scenes in the music video.

An unnamed source whispered to Groove that the singers are Taufik Batisah from Singapore and Nissa Sabyan from Indonesia.

Taufik, 37, was the winner of the first season of the reality TV series Singapore

Idol. He is also a well-known actor with quite an impressive portfolio.

The nephew of 1960s singer Maria Bachok, he has collaborated with other singers such as Indonesia’s Rossa and our homegrown rapper Altimet.

Meanwhile, Nissa or Khoirunnisa, 19, is the vocalist for a gambus group from Indonesia called Sabyan Gambus.

She began singing professionally two years ago and is known for covering spiritual songs as well as her recitation of the Selawat Nabi (praises to Prophet Muhammad PBUH).

Meanwhile, Siti says that besides releasing this single, she is also taking it easy this month to spend more time with her family and focus on her business ventures.

For Hari Raya, Siti is excited that her clothing line Creacion & Simplysiti by Siti Nurhaliza has a matching pair design for mother and daughter. “Now I and Aafiyah can wear similar baju for Hari Raya,” smiles Siti, obviously thinking of her 14-month-old daughter Siti Aafiyah Khalid.
