THE Puppy Cube is an interactive touchscreen projector that retails for US$999. At that price point, just what kind of wonders can you expect? The Puppy Cube uses the unique Anytouch technology that transforms virtually any surface into a touchscreen via an ultra-short focusing lens, enabling it to project a 58cm touchscreen. You can go all the way up to 254cm simply by placing it on a flat surface.

The Puppy Cube is powered by a custom version of the Android operating system, which in turn makes it compatible with virtually every Android app that has ever rolled out. Do bear in mind that this is not a serious piece of home theater equipment, so do not expect too much from the dual 5W speakers. The projector comes with a 5MP camera module and bi-directional microphone array so that you can conduct your video conferences in style and ease. The “touchscreen” that it projects offers a 10-point multi-touch capability while automatic keystone correction will deliver the best viewing experience at all times. As with all projectors, there is a bulb that keeps it going. The question is, how long can it last? The Puppy Cube claims a four-hour use daily for up to 10 years. With a 5,000mAh battery within the Puppy Cube, you can be sure that your next presentation will not have to stop abruptly just because the Puppy Cube has run out of juice. While there are whispers of a Qualcomm-powered model of the Puppy Cube arriving next year, the current model is more than capable of delivering on its promises.
