Nothing seems to work for Dollah

-

coach Dollah Salleh is seeking solutions to his team’s scoring woes in the absence of injured striker Dickson Nwakaeme.

The former international was upset with the manner his team failed to find the net in the 0-0 draw with Perak in Sunday’s Super League match at the Darulmakmur Stadium in Kuantan.

Although Pahang are still second in the table with 26 points, 10 behind leaders Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), the east coast side could face a problem in maintaining their position at the end of the season, if they don’t start winning matches soon.

Kedah and Selangor, who are third and fourth, are only four points behind Dollah’s side.

Pahang were only two points behind JDT after 11 rounds but now have a 10-point gap to chase after securing only a point in their last three matches.

Nwakaeme, who has been battling fitness and injury problems, is Pahang’s top scorer with seven goals in all competitions while French defender Herold Goulon is the next leading scorer on four.

“I have tried everything to solve my attack including converting winger Mohamadau Sumareh into a striker in Nwakaeme’s absence but it is not working.

“I have been reminding the players that Nwakaeme is not the only one capable of creating and scoring goals but things have not improved.

“Sumareh is improving though but I have to look for a compatible partner for him,” said Dollah.

The other forwards in the team are Norshahrul Idlan Talaha and Ze Eduardo.

Perak coach Mehmet Durakovic said: “We had a good structure in the match and did well to earn a draw. A point from an away game is always a fantastic result.”

Perak are sixth with 18 points.
