SEIKAHA, the classic wave motif found in ancient Japanese paintings, and the beautiful sakura season in Kyoto are the inspirations behind Kooshboo’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri collection this year.

Established in 2012, Kooshboo is a Malaysian brand for children’s clothes synonymous with nature — and childhood memories-inspired designs and vintage art motifs.

The Kooshboo Eid 19 collection is designed for the family which likes the idea of making their Raya rounds looking comfy and effortlessly fashionable in clothes infused with just a subtle touch of the trendy “sedondon” or “matchy-matchy” elements.

EXCLUSIVE PRINTS

Ranging from baby clothes to kids and adults, the collection features exclusive prints on fabrics in soft and light shades of pink, blue and green as well as timeless combos of black and white.

For babies, there are kaftans with threequarter raglan and kimono style sleeves as well as rompers with snap buttons for easy nappy changes.

For girls from 2 to 7 years, there is Hana Set, a modern kurung combo comprising a kimono style top with three-quarter raglan sleeves paired with a tulip cut skirt with an elasticated waistband for comfort and flexibility. Girls between 8 and 13 years may find the Yumi Set appealing. The set comprises plain cotton-linen tops with bell sleeves and tulip cut printed skirts.

Mothers can complement their little girls’ Japanese-inspired looks with kimono style tops matched with instant pareos from either the Narumi Kaftan or Sakura Set variants.

What makes the girls’ and mommies’ range worth the pick is that each item is a non-seasonal, beyond Raya piece that can be worn with other clothes to mix and match.

LITTLE DETAILS

Mothers don’t have to worry about clothes for the boys in the family either as the brand offers simple yet practical items, especially for little ones to run and play.

The Kaito Set is a three-piece baju Melayu ensemble consisting of a round collar top, trousers and instant sampin with an elasticated waistband, tailored for boys from 2 to 13 years.

Daddies can also match the rest of the family in smart casual shirts featuring mandarin collars, side slits and front pockets.

The detailing for the boys’ and men’s range is on the inner neck binding and bracket which showcases the authentic printed wave motif — a wonderful contrast to a mute-coloured top, particularly when a button or two is undone.

For comfort and practicality, the clothes for girls and women are made of 100 per cent natural modal fabric which is silk-like, light and airy without the need for dry cleaning.

The boys’ and men’s range is made from pre-washed cottonlinen fabric which is breathable and soft on the skin.

Kooshboo Eid 19 collection retails between RM89 and RM399 at Kooshboo. com and at the Kooshboo store, Level 3, Great Eastern Mall, Ampang; Robinsons, The Gardens Midvalley; Parkson Pavilion; Kita Kita, The Linc KL, Fashionvalet.com and Zalora.com.
