PREMIUM quick service food and beverage specialist, Loob Holding Sdn Bhd, has made its debut in the United Kingdom through its flagship Tealive hand-crafted tea, which opened its first outlet in Manchester last Friday.

Loob founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Bryan Loo said this was a long-awaited achievement that the company had worked on since Tealive was set up in Malaysia more than two years ago.

“This may seem a small step for some, but it is a giant leap for us

in mindset as a Malaysian brand breaking into Europe. When we created Tealive, we had our eyes of bringing the modern tea culture to all parts of Malaysia and all corners of the world.

“We are humbled by the support from thousands of customers as we expand into China, Vietnam and Australia. This entry into UK drew a lot from our experience in Australia,” he said in a statement.

Tealive said its first UK outlet was well-received, with its “tearistas” serving hand-crafted tea to long queues of customers.

Loo said the company was fortunate to have engaged excellent local partners in all of its foreign ventures and, in the UK, they found it in Legend Ventures Ltd.

Legend Ventures CEO Samuel Chin said his company was planning to launch the second outlet in London later this year and was expecting five outlets in its first year of operation.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with Loob in the UK as it is the leader in promoting modern tea culture in Southeast Asia. We look forward to being part of the exciting Tealive brand journey into continental Europe.

“We look forward to be a good springboard for Tealive into Europe with our understanding of the Western market,” said Chin.

Tealive has more than 250 outlets in Malaysia.

It aims to be the global lifestyle tea brand with 1,000 stores in 15 countries in the next two to three years.
