Furious Mbappe accuses PSG manager of foiling his shot at Golden Shoe

-

Kylian Mbappe has accused Thomas Tuchel of stopping him winning the Golden Shoe ahead of Barcelona’s Lionel Messi after the Paris Saint-Germain boss benched his forward for games against Strasbourg and Nantes.

The friction comes after Tuchel watched Mbappe hint at a move away from the French capital at the Ligue 1 awards evening on Sunday — in which the forward scooped both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

However, the Golden Shoe appears to have escaped him with Messi (36) four goals clear of Mbappe in the standings.

And, according to Le Parisien,

Mbappe has expressed his anger at Tuchel for stopping him boosting his tally against the mid-table opposition at the start of April.

It appears all is not well at the Parc des Princes. The French outlet report that Tuchel and Mbappe have a working relationship, but is nowhere near as close as the manager’s bond with Neymar.

Real Madrid are watching events unfold with added interest after Mbappe’s comments about seeking greater responsibility.

Mbappe placed his PSG future in doubt by suggesting he wants a bigger role at PSG ‘or somewhere else’ and Real are plotting a summer overhaul after a disastrous season.

According Marca, Real believe Mbappe’s remarks could even mean Neymar might become available should PSG move to make their France star their main man.

Real have repeatedly been linked with Mbappe and Neymar but Marca say that a move has, as of yet, failed to materialise because president Florentino Perez is wary of upsetting PSG’s owner, the Emir of Qatar.
