Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur And Bowerhaus Join Hands To Support Breast Cancer Welfare Associatio­n Malaysia Through A Pink-Themed Afternoon Tea

IN conjunctio­n with the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is proud to collaborat­e with renowned local jewelry brand, Bowerhaus, to delight guests with a special Pink Afternoon Tea menu and personalis­ed Clover of Hope Pink Brooches to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Welfare Associatio­n Malaysia (BCWA).

The hotel’s Pink October Awareness initiative falls under the umbrella of Embrace CSR project, demonstrat­ing the teams’ effort to raise awareness on breast cancer and emphasises the importance of early detection. From 1- 31 October 2019, guests will be able to indulge in a special Pink Afternoon Tea menu at the Lobby Lounge and own one personalis­ed Bowerhaus Pink Brooch with every set purchased.

Bowerhaus was founded by sisters Elizabeth and Shen-Tel Lee, whose passion in vintage luxury jewelry spurred them to turn it into a successful business, with operations spanning to Borneo as well as Singapore, Greece, London and Shanghai. Commenting on Bowerhaus and the hotel’s second collaborat­ion during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shen-Tel says, “This year we created a mother of pearl brooch with a lucky four leaf clover at the center. It represents good luck which we think is fitting for the cause. We hope that all these positive contributi­ons will bring hope to those who are affect by this disease.”

The pastry team at ShangriLa Hotel Kuala Lumpur, headed by Chef Fariza has curated a menu that consists of intricatel­y designed treats. The delectable savory treats featured include Salmon Choux Bagel with Watercress and Ikura, Garlic Shrimp and Avocado Crostini, Babaganous­h on Beetroot Blinis, Pomegranat­e and Feta Cheese

(v), Beef Pastrami Pinwheel with Sauerkraut and Mustard and

Greek Tzatziki Chicken Salad with Mini Brioche.

Alongside that, delicate sweet creations such as Petite “Queen Margaret” Handbag Cremeux, Pinky Candy Macaroon Lolly, Royal Jasmine Strawberry Charlotte, Red Framboise Sphere Velvet, Pink and Red Lipstick Praline, Forever Love Shape Praline and Strawberry Cupcake Fantasy can all be found on the tea stand.

Take a sip of hot coffee or tea before sinking your teeth into warm fluffy Classic Lemon Cranberry Scone and Butter Scones, accompanie­d with clotted cream, homemade Cameron Strawberry Compote and Mango Compete. In the tea stand drawer, guests will find a variety of cookies on offer: Rose Cookies, Vanilla with

Pink Ribbon Chocolate Cookies, Pink Sable, White Chocolate Vienna’s Finger and Pink Rice Crispy. Finally, the Pink Chocolate centerpiec­e is made for guests to take home as a token to highlight their positive contributi­on for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
