Aston Martin, Airbus team up on special edition helicopter
WHAT happens when one of the best luxury sports carmakers teams up with one of the most dynamic helicopter manufacturers?
You get the ACH130 Aston Martin Edition, a cool helicopter from a collaboration between Aston Martin and Airbus Corporate Helicopters (ACH).
The limited-run helicopter can be opted with four unique Aston Martin signature designs for the exterior as well as interior.
According to Airbus, the bespoke helicopter will delight helicopter owners and pilots who appreciate the pleasures of possessing and driving high-performance luxury cars.
The French company has been working with Aston Martin for more than a year on this project and the ACH130 aims to deliver Airbus’ best with Aston’s ethos of beauty, handcrafting and the automotive art.
Aston Martin calls the result a new level of aesthetics and meticulous attention to detail for the helicopter market.
The external paint scheme for the helicopter is Stirling Green that fades to Jet Black on the underside with Skyfall Silver around the cowlings of the aircraft.
Other paint schemes include the selection of Xenon Grey, Arizona or Ultramarine Black.
The cabin is treated with a black ultra-suede that can be topped with leather options, including Oxford Tan, Pure Black, Coromorant and Ivory.
Aston Martin’s signature wings complete the interior design, embossed on the helicopter seats, while the rear of the front seats get the same brogue detailing found on the centre of the DB11 seats.
Each helicopter will come with a dash plaque with the logos of both Airbus and Aston Martin, which can also be had with the owner’s name as an option.
The ACH130 Aston Martin Edition is now available on request with delivery to start in the first quarter this year.
No pricing is released, but as a reference, the “standard” Airbus H130 sells at US$3.3 million new.
