DAPAT VISTA IN TIE-UP WITH 2 BANKS FOR EJAMIN APP
Firm aims to have 70pc of bailors use digital bail payment solution by year end
DAPAT Vista (M) Sdn Bhd, Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd and Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd signed collaboration agreements yesterday to launch eJamin, Malaysia’s pioneer digital bail payment solution.
It offers bailors the convenience of efficient payment to ensure the quick release of those in remand.
Dapat Vista executive director Sabri Rahman said since its soft launch on Jan 13, eJamin had registered transactions amounting to RM1.2 million.
“To date, 30 per cent of bailors are using the eJamin system in the courts and we aim to increase it to 70 per cent by the end of this year. We are targeting to have the eJamin system in all courts nationwide,” he said after the signing ceremony, here, yesterday.
Sabri said with eJamin, the relevant parties could monitor the transactions and curb money laundering and corruption.
He added that eJamin allowed bailors to post bail through mobile devices or personal computers, thus eliminating the need to go through a time-consuming process of travelling between the courts and the banks to open surety accounts.
“Bailors are required to complete an electronic form on eJamin. Once payment is made, bail money is automatically routed to the designated Bank Islam or Bank Muamalat accounts. At the close of the case, bail money will be refunded to the bailor’s bank account via eJamin,” said Sabri.
Bank Islam chief executive officer Mohd Muazzam Mohamed said the collaboration would expand the bank’s services.
“This initiative is part of Bank Islam’s digital journey in providing cashless transaction that is seamless and safe.”
Bank Muamalat chief executive officer Khairul Kamaruddin said being the only two partnering banks with eJamin, it was delighted to advance its services to speed up the bailing process through use of technology.
